Recognition of prior learning

To progress from previous career development study (e.g. Diploma of Career Guidance (Level 6); New Zealand Diploma of Career Development (Level 6); or NZ Advanced Diploma of Career Development (Level 7)) to the Bachelor of Career Development, you need to know how much your qualification and your experience can be counted towards the Bachelor of Career Development credits through Recognition of Academic Credit (known as RAC).

RAC can include both direct ‘Cross Credit’ from prior tertiary study and ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ (known as RPL) towards the Bachelor of Career Development.
The process will include you providing evidence of:

  • Your experience in practice in the career development field
  • The number of credits you have achieved in previous Career Development study.

Academic qualification equivalents

  • Higher Secondary Certificate / Standard 12. 

English language requirements (one of the below):

  • IELTS        :       overall academic score of at least 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each band)
  • TOEFL      :       Score of 60 (with a writing score of 20)
  • PTE           :      Academic) score of 50
